María José Vidal Román is a consultant for the World Bank's Digital Development global practice, where she supports the management of digitization projects. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, she received direct training from the Spanish Foreign Trade Institute and worked at the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Washington D.C., where she drafted growth strategies for Spanish companies in U.S. digital markets and briefed the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Trade on U.S. climate, fiscal and monetary policies. She has private sector experience in international taxation and wealth management.
María José holds a degree in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and an MBA in International Business Management from Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo. She has lived in Spain, Germany, China and the United States, and speaks Spanish, English, Italian and German.
