Maria Magdalena (Maika) Chiquier, Private Sector Development Specialist at the World Bank, focuses on advising governments globally on how to reform business climate in order to facilitate private sector development. Prior to joining the Doing Business team, she worked in the IFC(WB) Legal Department. Maika was seconded to the European Stability Mechanism, a bail-out fund in Luxembourg in the years 2012-2013 where she worked on post-financial crisis corporate governance methodology for banks in distress. Before joining IFC/WB, she also practiced law at Clifford Chance and White & Case law firms. Maika is admitted to the New York Bar.
