María Reyes Retana Torre (Mer) is a Junior Data Scientist at the World Bank's Development Impact Evaluation Analytics group (DIME Analytics), where she helps to coordinate the World Bank’s work on reproducible research and provides technical support and training in R, GitHub, and related tools. She has over eight years of experience in data analysis, visualization, and economic modeling, with a focus on gender, poverty, and inequality.

Before joining DIME Analytics, Mer worked at the Inter-American Development Bank, where she coordinated the data ecosystem of the Social Sector and contributed to projects addressing gender and poverty across Latin America. She holds an MSc in Development Economics from the University of Sussex and a BA in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM
