Mariama Wurie is an International Development and Communications Professional who has worked across West Africa, the UK and Canada. She holds a M.A. in Media and Communications (Distinction) from the University of Arts London and a B.A. in International Development Studies and Political Science from McGill University. The bulk of her career has been as a Technical Consultant (in the fields of public education and public health— designing and implementing field programs and studies) for organizations like the Survivor Dream Project, Malaria Consortium, Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Education, and the World Bank Group in Sierra Leone— while simultaneously serving as a Freelance Multimedia Producer and Journalist for the BBC World Service and CNN Africa.
