Mariem Malouche is a Senior Economist in the World Bank Group Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice, with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). She formerly worked in the Bank's International Trade Unit. This is her second stint working on the MENA region, after originally joining the Bank in that capacity in 2004. Before joining the Bank, Malouche obtained her PhD in International Economics from University Paris-Dauphine, France. Her areas of interest include trade policy, non-tariff measures, regional integration, export diversification and trade finance. She has professional experience in the MENA, SAR and AFR regions. She is co-editor of “Trade Finance during the Great Trade Collapse,” World Bank, 2011.
