Marimuthu Swaminathan is an Indian National associated with the FAO Investment Centre (FAO-DPIB) from September 2011 as a Livestock Consultant. He holds a bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine and MSc in Animal Sciences from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. He has 26 years of professional experience in smallholder livestock and dairy development programs within India, and for the past nine years supporting similar programs in Nepal, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Dominica through DPIB. Additionally, coordinating a research project on the application of genomics in cattle and buffalo genetic improvement and genomics-based animal health diagnostics applied to the Indian livestock sector.
