Marina Elefante is a Private Sector Development Specialist at the World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law, within the Global Indicators Group (DECIG). She specializes in international human rights law and her current research focuses on violence against women. Previously, she has worked on criminal legal aid for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), human trafficking at The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and taught international human rights law at Yeditepe University in Istanbul. Marina holds a law degree from the Federico II University of Napoli, Italy, a master’s degree in human rights and humanitarian action from the University of Siena, Italy and an LL.M. in international legal studies from Georgetown University Law Center.
