Marisa Garcia Lozano is an Analyst (Consultant) with the Social, Urban, Resilience and Rural Global Practice at the World Bank. She provides analytical and operational support to projects on municipal governance, housing, urban infrastructure and services provision, focusing on Nepal, Pakistan and India. She is co-editor of two Urbanization Reviews for Central America and Haiti. Before joining the Bank, Marisa conducted research at the Environmental Law Institute on displaced populations by hurricane Katrina and superstorm Sandy, as well as on benefit-sharing natural resources trust funds.
Between 2011 and 2013, she worked at the Organization of American States on a Caribbean cultural heritage project. She has also performed consulting work for Nathan Associates Inc. and RTI International. Marisa holds a Master’s degree in International Development Studies from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
