Marje Aksli is a consultant at the World Bank where she has worked since early 2020 with Governance, Poverty and Equity, Social Inclusion and Urban Resilience teams. She joined the Future of Government initiative in Spring 2021, providing research input to the Future of Government flagship outreach and report. An Estonian and Canadian national, she holds MA degrees from the University of Tartu where she studied languages and University of Ottawa where she studied globalization and international development. She has published research on the impact of global governance on local policy making, and is keenly interested in institutions, social norms and how they affect local development. She has been certified as a Project Management Professional and has worked as a program evaluation consultant and project management instructor.
