Mark Hellowell is the Director of the Global Health Policy Unit at the University of Edinburgh, one of the world’s top 20 universities. Dr. Hellowell’s work focuses on improving public-private sector engagement in the financing and delivery of health care. He has authored more than 30 peer reviewed scientific publications, mostly on this topic, his work featuring in prominent print and broadcast media, including The Financial Times, The Economist, and the BBC’s news output. He is former special advisor to the United Kingdom parliament’s Treasury Select Committee, and has worked with the World Bank, the WHO, DfID, and the Global Financing Facility (among others) on technical support and capacity-building initiatives for key policymakers who seek to mobilise the private health sector in making progress towards Universal Health Coverage.
