Mark P. Dallas is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of Asian Studies at Union College in New York.  In 2021-22, he will be a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow for Tenured International Relations Scholars (IAF-TIRS), working at a US government executive agency on US policies related to China, emerging technologies, supply chains and national security.  He has published on topics at the intersection of China, East Asia and global value chains, including GVC analysis using high-frequency shipment trade data and investment data.  Besides mobile telecom, his other current research projects include strategic alliances in semiconductors, Chinese industrial and technology policies and US-China economic coercion and statecraft.
