Mark Deinert is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and a Fellow in the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines. He holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Science and Engineering and a B.S. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Cornell University. His research and teaching are focused on complex systems with applications to energy and risk analysis.He has been an advisor on climate adaptation and natural hazard resilience for World Bank projects in other 30 countries across Africa, the Caribbean, South America and Southeast Asia.
