Maroua Sallami is a World Bank education specialist currently based in Bujumbura, Burundi, where she co-leads the Bank's education engagement. She joined the World Bank in 2018 and over the years has directed her focus towards improving education in Fragile, Conflict, and Violence (FCV) affected countries across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
Maroua’s experience spans across regional and country-level projects from childhood to tertiary education to skills development as well as multisector interventions in human development. She holds a Master of Science in Management Studies from the Kellogg School of Management and earned a joint degree in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University.
