Martin joined IDI in 2011 and currently reports to the Director General, working remotely across IDI on all aspects of strategic management, stakeholder management, partnerships and learning. Martin led development of the IDI Strategic Plan 2019-23, and currently coordinates IDI’s emerging engagement with the IMF around SAI audit of COVID-19 emergency funding. Martin’s previous position in IDI was as Deputy Director General and Head of the INTOSAI-Donor Secretariat (IDS), responsible for managing the work of IDS and reporting to the INTOSAI-Donor Steering Committee and its leadership group. Martin led the INTOSAI task team responsible for developing and piloting the SAI Performance Measurement Framework (PMF), and establishment of the Global Call for Proposals.
Previously, Martin worked for the UK Department for International Development in their Public Financial Management team, with responsibilities including DFID approach to managing fiduciary risk, and representing DFID on the PEFA Steering Committee. Prior to this, as a PFM consultant, Martin worked long term with the State Audit of Vietnam, Audit Service of Sierra Leone, and Accountant General of Tanzania, among others. Martin’s background is as a UK public sector external auditor and member of the UK Chartered Institute of Public Finance.
