Martin Schmidt is an economist with over a decade of experience analyzing issues in health financing, governance, labor, productivity, and private sector development. For several years he also worked in IT and biotech startup companies. His main interest is the application of insights from complex systems theories to the economic sphere. Originally from Munich, Germany he holds a PhD in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Master’s degree in economics from the Central European University, and Master’s degree in physics, chemistry, and history of science from the ETH Zurich.
