Head, Strategic Initiatives, Analytics & Knowledge Management at the International Finance Corporation

Martin, a US national, has 27 years of experience with IFC and is currently the Head, Strategic Initiatives, Analytics and Knowledge Management. His previous role, until March 2023, was IFC Director for Mexico, Colombia, Central America & the Caribbean. Through several leadership positions, Martin has led teams responsible for Blended Finance, investments in IFC’s Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services business in Latin America, Telecommunications, Media and Technology business in Asia, Europe, the Middle East & North Africa, and for Infrastructure & Natural Resources in southern Europe. He has lived and/or worked across all IFC regions (Bangkok, Istanbul, Bogota), has led and been involved in many of IFC’s corporate initiatives, and has had significant interaction across the World Bank Group, IFC’s Board, and its Shareholders. He also served as a Chief Credit Officer in the Manufacturing and Infrastructure sectors. Prior to his graduate studies, Martin served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Gabon. Martin has master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and University of Pennsylvania Wharton School. He holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University.
