Marwane Zouaidi is a Consultant at the World Bank with the MENA Chief Economist Office and the Global Investment and Competition Unit of the Macro, Trade and Investment (MTI) Global Practice. Prior to joining the World Bank, Marwane worked in political development in MENA at the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and in food security in West Africa at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). At the World Bank, Marwane’s professional portfolio has been centered on private sector development, business regulatory environment, and economic research in developing countries in MENA and Sub-Saharan Africa. Marwane is a co-author of a World Bank Policy Research Working Paper on the effects of digital economy on labor markets and is the editor-in-chief of the weekly MENA COVID-19 Crisis Tracker. Marwane holds an MA in International Affairs from Penn State and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Clark University.
