Maryam is an Operations Analyst with the World Bank Kuwait Office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Aviation Focus) from Old Dominion University (USA) and International MBA from IE business School (Spain). She worked in the aviation sector in the private sector and later joined the World Bank in Kuwait working mostly on Operations and Human Development.
Adventure, photography and storytelling illustrate her personality. She am interested in capturing people’s moments and stories around and reflecting them from her own angles. Warzones and conflict areas have a great portion of her attention in photography as she says "they are needed now and to remember how things were when we look back in the future." Her photos have been used internationally in postcards, travel magazines, adventure books and human development reports, and won the following awards: Sinchi Photography Competition 2018- Commended, and Shoot the Frame Competition 2019 in the Shoot The Face Winner category for December 2019.
