Matthew Manning is Professor of Crime Science at City University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on how new technologies can be exploited by criminals to undertake crime such as fraud, money laundering and terrorism financing. Professor Manning's research is particularly focused on: (1) how individuals commit future crimes; (2) the processes that can be adopted to make committing future crimes more difficult, riskier and less rewarding; and (3) the tools that assist in making strategic decisions that create efficiency and enhance return on policy and operational investment. The tools and processes he has built have been hosted and used by a number of government agencies in Australia and the United Kingdom.
