Mauricio Larrain is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Columbia Business School. His research focuses on corporate finance and financial intermediation in emerging markets. Some of his recent work studies the link between financial market liberalization and income inequality. Professor Larrain received a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Universidad Catolica de Chile and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He was awarded the Western Finance Association's Trefftzs Award for the best doctoral student paper for his dissertation.
