Md. Istiak Sobhan is an environmental specialist in the Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice at the World Bank. Before joining the World Bank, he spent five years as a program coordinator at the International Union for Conservation of Nature. His primary research interests and areas of specialization are environmental systems analysis, forestry and biodiversity, and species distribution across the landscape utilizing remote sensing. He has a PhD from the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands.
