Mei Ling is the Senior Country Operations Officer and the Gender Country Focal Point for the World Bank Group Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Finance Hub in Malaysia. Mei Ling has more than 25 years work experience. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2016, Mei Ling led the Strategic Reform Initiatives for Human Capital Development under the Government of Malaysia’s program on reforms. Mei Ling commenced her career in Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) and served clients in the airline, automotive, transportation and oil and gas industries in Malaysia and Indonesia. She was a director in an international human capital consulting firm. Mei Ling has also worked at the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDeC), where she led and promoted Malaysia as a regional hub for Shared Services and Outsourcing.
Mei Ling has an MBA from the Judge, University of Cambridge, and minored in Sustainable Development. She was a recipient of the Chevening - Cambridge Trust Scholarship Award. She graduated with a first class honors in food science and technology from University Putra Malaysia (formerly Agriculture University of Malaysia).
