Melanie Ahoba works with the World Bank’s Agriculture and Food Global Practice for West and central Africa, as a consultant. She joined the Bank in 2022, through the African Fellowship Program. She currently supports the Global Practice’s operations in Côte d’Ivoire and contributes to country and regional level analytical works related to climate and food systems. Prior to joining the Bank, Melanie worked as a teaching and research assistant at the Earth and Life Institute of the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, where she obtained her PhD. Her thesis focused on the analysis of agricultural policy reforms including farm gate prices, supply and provision of inputs and services in the Ivorian export crop sector. Melanie also holds an engineering degree in Agronomy from Institut National Polytechnique Houphouet-Boigny in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire.
