Melany Gualavisi is a Ph.D. candidate from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. She is an applied economist with substantial experience in data analysis as well as the application of causal inference methodologies for projects related to labor and development fields. During her Ph.D. years, she held consultant positions at the World Bank and an internship position at Amazon, gaining experience with machine learning techniques and big data. Before joining graduate school, she worked at the Inter-American Development Bank as part of the Labor Markets and Social Security Division.
