Senior Natural Resources Management Specialist, Environment and Natural Resources Global Practice

Melissa Landesz is a Senior Natural Resources Management Specialist in the Environment and Natural Resources Global Practice of the World Bank. She is part of the core team for the West Africa Coastal Areas Management Program (WACA) where she leads the country dialogue and national project in Côte d’Ivoire and provides overall technical support on Integrated Coastal Management, natural resources management, and climate adaptation. Another aspect of her responsibilities at the Bank include environmental safeguards support to a portfolio of projects in the Transport, Water, Energy, Urban, Agriculture, Finance, and Health sectors, and training Bank colleagues and government counterparts on the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF). She previously worked as an Environmental Safeguards Specialist with the Regional Safeguards Advisor for the Bank’s Africa region. 
 
Melissa holds a Masters in International Finance (Global MBA) from the University of Maryland; Graduate Studies in GIS and Integrated Coastal Management and a Bachelors in Physical Geography (option Soil Science) from McGill University (Montreal, Canada).
