Michael Grimm is Professor of Development Economics at the University of Passau. He is also an affiliated with IZA, the RWI Research Network and the DIW. He holds an MA in Economics from Frankfurt University and an MA in Population Economics and PhD in Development Economics both from Sciences-Po Paris. He is a member of the European Development Research Network (EUDN) and currently the chairman of the Research Group on Development Economics of the German Economic Association (VfS). His research covers problems related to poverty and growth such as education, health and informal labor markets including the evaluation of policies in these domains. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Development Economics, World Bank Economic Review, Labour Economics, Demography and the Journal of Economic Geography.
