Michael Kent Ranson is a Senior Economist (Health), based in the World Bank office in Geneva. He leads several activities within the Health Financing Global Solutions Group of the World Bank. His recent work has included working on immunization financing in Kyrgyzstan and the national health financing strategy in Kenya, organizing the Annual UHC Financing Forum, and representing the World Bank on the governance committees of several Geneva-based organizations. Prior to joining the World Bank, he researched, wrote and taught on health financing and system issues, first as a lecturer at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and later at the World Health Organization. He holds a MD from McMaster University (Canada), a MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health (USA), and a DPhil in health economics and financing from LSHTM (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine ) (UK).
