Michel Matera is a Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the World Bank Global Practice for Social, Urban, Rural and Resilience. He has more than 15 years of disaster risk management (DRM) experience in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Africa and the Pacific. He joined the World Bank in 2010 and spent two years with the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery. He is now responsible for a portfolio of DRM projects in Haiti, Dominican Republic and Brazil.
