Associate Professor of Economics

Michele Di Maio is Associate Professor of Economics at University of Naples Parthenope in Italy. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from University of Siena and his BA from Bocconi University. His current research interests include the economics of conflict, international trade, and industrial policy in developing countries. His research has been published in the Journal of European Economic Association, Economic Journal, Journal of Development Economics, Demography, and World Bank Economic Review. He has worked as a consultant on issues related to conflict, trade policy, and industrial development for the World Bank, and the United Nations (UN) Industrial Development Organization, UN Conference on Trade and Development, UN Economic Commission for Africa, UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Initiative for Policy Dialogue, and the International Growth Centre. He has conducted field work in Zanzibar, Sierra Leone, Honduras, Samoa, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Oman.
