Michele Mancini is Senior Economist at the ECB, currently on leave from the Bank of Italy. His research primarily focuses on global value chains, in particular on the accounting of trade in value-added and the assessment of countries’ participation in the global production network. He has also worked on the analysis of the cyclical and structural causes of the global trade slowdown, the effects of FDI on firm-level productivity, the political economy of economic integration. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Sapienza University of Rome.
