Miguel is a journalist and educator based in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is the founder, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Amenaza Roboto, a science and technology news website that runs the sole data and climate journalism vertical in Uruguay.
Miguel is a 2023 Pulitzer Center grantee. He was a Tow-Knight Fellow in Entrepreneurial Journalism at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, and is an alumnus of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network at the Reuters Institute. He holds a BA in Communication from the Catholic University of Uruguay, and a master's degree in Human Sciences from the University of the Republic of Uruguay. As an academic, he secured the prestigious María Viñas Applied Research Fund from ANII, the National Agency for Research and Innovation. Additionally, in his capacity as a journalist, Miguel is one of the recipients of the 2023 Sigma Award.
