Miguel is a Senior Operations Officer in the World Bank’s Fragility, Conflict, and Violence (FCV) Group. In this role, Miguel focuses on providing strategic and analytical support to World Bank country teams to more effectively address the underlying drivers and impacts of FCV. His current area of focus includes examining FCV dynamics in Somalia, Kenya, and the Horn of Africa region. Previously, he was part of the core team that developed the World Bank Group’s FCV Strategy, and also helped to establish the Global Concessional Financing Facility – an international platform to support middle-income countries address the development challenges posed by refugee crises. Miguel has experience in international organizations working on development and conflict-related issues, and holds a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
