Miguel's current research focuses on macroeconomics, private sector development, and competitiveness topics. In his capacity, Miguel supports IFC’s investment projects across Central America, Mexico, and more recently in the Central Africa region. Prior to joining the IFC, he worked for the IMF African Department, the government of Portugal, and PwC. Miguel holds an M.A. in International Economics and Latin American Studies from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and a BSc in Economics from the University of Porto.
