Mili Varughese is a Senior Economist Consultant with the Water Global Practice, where she focuses on regional operations in Eastern Africa and global knowledge work related to water security. Previously, she co-authored the landmark report that estimated the costs of meeting the SDG targets for water and sanitation, as well as worked on World Bank operations in South Asia and MENA. Before joining the Bank, Mili was an Associate with the Urban Utilities and Governance team at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mili holds an MPA in International Development from Princeton University, an MA in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, and a BSc in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.
