Mona Sur is Practice Manager for Environment, Natural Resources and the Blue Economy in the East Asia and Pacific Region. She oversees financing, technical assistance, and knowledge solutions in areas such as climate change, forests and landscapes, circular economy, pollution management, blue economy, environmental risk management and environmental policies and economics in Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam. Immediately before this, she was Operations Manager for the World Bank’s Papua New Guinea and Pacific Islands department overseeing a program of financing and technical assistance for the Bank's 12 Pacific Island member countries. Prior to that she was Lead Agriculture Economist in Europe and Central Asia.
Ms. Sur holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.
