Monica Melchor

Master in Public Administration in International Development candidate, Harvard Kennedy School

Monica Melchor is a Master in Public Administration in International Development candidate of the Harvard Kennedy School. She worked for nearly 5 years as an economic analyst at the Asian Development Bank, where she contributed to the Asian Economic Integration Report—a flagship ADB publication—on the topics of financial stability, crises, and safety nets. Most recently, she was a short-term consultant of the World Bank Philippine Country Office working on labor and employment issues in the Philippines. She taught an introductory course in development economics at the Ateneo de Manila University. Her areas of interest include job and skills mismatches, the future of work, and labor and education economics. Her research has been published in the Economic Analysis and Policy Journal, the Journal of Asian Public Policy, the Journal of Asian Development Studies, and the Philippine Journal of Development. She graduated with a BA in Political Science, magna cum laude and an MA in Economics from the University of the Philippines.
