Monika Kumar is an Environmental Specialist with the World Bank’s Environmental, Natural Resource & Blue Economy unit in South Asia. Over the past two years, she has been working to integrate sustainability planning in the operational portfolio in South Asia in the COVID and post-COVID context. Prior to that, Monika coordinated the World Bank’s Corporate Responsibility Program for more than 10 years, formalizing a governance and accountability system to be a leader amongst its peers. In 2020, she co-created the Sustainability Professionals for a Resilient Future (SPRF), a group of Sustainability Professionals seeking to keep sustainability central to the recovery pathway. Monika has a Masters in Environmental Management (MEM) from the Yale Environment School and has worked as a Sustainability Strategist in New York before joining the Bank.
