Monjurul Hoque Mohammod Arif Uddin is a Transport Specialist at the Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF), based in Ethiopia. He is currently managing the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) in Africa and providing cross-support for transport projects in the region. Arif, a civil engineer from Bangladesh, holds a master’s degree in Highway and Transportation Engineering. Before joining the Bank, he worked with various organizations in Bangladesh in the fields of road safety research, audit, community-based infrastructure projects and driving training. This professional experience of more than eight years has made him highly knowledgeable in road user behavior analysis, vulnerable road user safety, black spot investigation and correction, policy research, and traffic safety intervention evaluation.
