Moritz Meyer

Senior Economist, Poverty and Equity GP, World Bank

Moritz Meyer is a Senior Economist in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice of the World Bank, who has worked on poverty measurement, fiscal incidence, and distributional impact of projects and policies in South Asia, West Africa, Central Asia, the South Caucasus and the European Union. His research focuses on migration, labor markets and social mobility. In addition, Moritz has been responsible for multiple investment projects to support governments in strengthening their national statistical systems. Prior to joining the World Bank, Moritz worked in the research department at the Asian Development Bank and the International Labor Organization focusing on labor markets and social policy in developing countries and transition economies. Moritz holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence with empirical research focusing on health, labor markets and social networks. He earned his Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Mannheim and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
