Mounir Mahmalat serves as a country coordinator for the Fragility, Conflict and Violence Group of the World Bank. His work and research focuses on political economy issues, with a focus on governance, conflict, and development. His previous experiences include positions at the United Nation’s Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA) and various think tanks. He was a research fellow at Harvard University and American University of Beirut. He holds first degrees in music and engineering, as well as a PhD in political economy from Dublin City University.
