Waheed is a Senior Country Economist in Macroeconomics, Trade, and Investment Global Practice of the World Bank. His areas of interest are macroeconomic stabilization, public expenditure management and tax policy. Currently, he is leading the lending operations both at national and sub-national levels in the areas of improving fiscal management and sustainability, and domestic resource mobilization. In addition to these core areas, he also led several knowledge products including public expenditure reviews, public expenditure tracking survey, and public investment management assessments.
Before joining the World Bank in 2009, he worked for the State Bank of Pakistan—the central bank in Research Department, and later in the Monetary Policy Department.
