Nadim Khouri is an independent researcher working on issues of food systems, climate-smart agriculture, food security, and poverty alleviation. Previously, Nadim held operational and leadership positions at the World Bank, including the design and development of strategies and investments in food security, rural development and natural resource/environmental management in Latin America and the Caribbean, South Asia, and the Middle-East. He has also worked with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). This included working in conflict situations in South Asia, Central America and the Caribbean, the Balkans, and the Arab countries. Since retiring from the World Bank and the UN in 2016, Nadim has been assisting these organizations in their work on climate-smart agriculture as well as global and country food security and sustainable food systems.
