Nancy Lee is the Deputy CEO at MCC. She assists MCC’s Chief Executive Officer in managing the agency’s team and programs.
Prior to joining MCC, Dr. Lee was the General Manager of the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) at the Inter-American Development Bank, the Bank’s innovation laboratory for private sector development. Under her leadership, the MIF launched initiatives in women’s economic empowerment, youth job training, introducing social impact bonds in Latin America, and climate finance.
Previously, she served at the U.S. Treasury Department as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia, among other positions. She was a leader in efforts to put financial inclusion, SME finance, and women’s access to finance on the G20 agenda, and co-chaired the G20 SME Finance Group. She spent a year at the Center for Global Development as a Visiting Fellow, exploring the future of regional integration in the Western Hemisphere. Dr. Lee holds a Ph.D. in economics from Tufts University and a B.A. in economics from Wellesley College.
