Nandan holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. As a cinematographer, his work has been shown and won awards at Rotterdam International Film Festival, Locarno International Film Festival, South by Southwest Film Festival, BAFICI, AFI Fest, CPH:DOX, Visons du Reel, and BAMcinemaFest among others. He also holds masters degrees in Data Science and Economics.
