Senior Health Specialist with the Health Nutrition and Population Global Practice

Naomi Rupasinghe, DrPH, MA is a Senior Health Specialist with the Health Nutrition and Population Global Practice. She leads the Global Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Program, the Health Sector Portfolio in Moldova and the co-leads the One Health Regional Program in Central Asia. Prior to these roles she co-led the Health Sector Portfolio in Croatia and North Macedonia and co-led the strategy for Human Capital within the IDA Replenishment Team. She has led analytical projects and loans, across more than 12 countries, addressing issues such as health system sustainability and financing, AMR, non-communicable disease prevention and management, early childhood development and pharmaceutical policies. Prior to the World Bank, Naomi was a Manager in the Health and International Development practice at Strategy&/PriceWaterhouse Coopers, held research and teaching positions at Harvard University and led work on drug quality, as part of the Life Sciences team of The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She was trained as a public health specialist at Harvard, Columbia and Oxford Universities.
