Nato Kurshitashvili is a Senior Transport Specialist within the Transport Global Practice (GP) at the World Bank, where she leads the development of global knowledge products focused on transport and gender equality while supporting transport operations across multiple regions. Prior to this, she served as Principal Gender Adviser at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), where she spearheaded projects promoting gender equality and women’s economic empowerment across the Bank's operations, with a particular focus on infrastructure sectors. Notably, she co-led the creation of EBRD's flagship Women in Business and Green Cities programs. Earlier in her career, Nato worked with the Statistical Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), where she contributed to strengthening the national statistical systems of 12 countries in the ECA region, with an emphasis on improving the collection and dissemination of sex-disaggregated data. Nato holds an MSc in Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MA in Public Policy from Central European University, Hungary.
