Senior Carbon Finance Specialist

Neeta Hooda is a Senior Carbon Finance Specialist for the Bank’s Climate Change Group, focusing on technical, policy and operational issues in natural resource development. Working with the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility, among her contributions are standard setting and supporting countries in their efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.

She has also developed agriculture climate smart agriculture projects and programs under the BioCarbon Fund and engaging countries in leveraging climate finance for integrated landscape management.

Neeta has worked in several countries in Africa and Asia, and authored papers on field experiences with assessments on climate change and forests, the role of fiscal incentives in climate change mitigation, barriers to REDD and more.

A native of India, she held positions with the Indian Forest Service and the United Nations Convention on Climate Change before joining the Bank in 2009.
