Negede Lewi is a Senior Highway Engineer in the Africa Transport Unit of the World Bank. He is based in the Tanzania Country Office in Dar es Salaam, where he supports the preparation and implementation of Bank-financed transport sector projects in Tanzania and Uganda. Before his current position, Negede was based in Juba, South Sudan, and before that Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has frontline experience designing and implementing complex transport sector projects and has had to deal first hand with the numerous challenges faced with multi-country infrastructure projects as well as projects in a post-conflict environment. Negede is a civil engineer by background.
