Niaz Asadullah is Professor of Development Economics and Deputy Director of the Centre for Poverty and Development Studies (CPDS) at the University of Malaya. Previously he has taught at Reading and Oxford Universities and held research position at BRAC. He specializes in the economics of education. Niaz is presently working on a project on 'The Role of Secondary Schooling and Gender Norms in the Long-term Opportunities and Choices of Rural Bangladeshi Women’. He holds a DPhil in Economics from Oxford University.
