Nikki is a Consultant in the World Bank’s Transport Global Practice and is currently involved with work focusing on decarbonizing the maritime sector, a Sustainable Ports Partnership in Western Africa and water resources management in Sudan. She has worked for the World Bank for three years on a variety of transportation related projects including modeling the impacts of climate change on rural road investment projects in Chad, Guinea and the Central African Republic. She holds a master's degree in Civil Systems Engineering from the University of Colorado and is currently pursuing her PhD in Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research focuses on the nexus between public policy and infrastructure systems in order to understand if public investment addresses or perpetuates inequity within the US context and internationally. She has also worked in Kenya and Ethiopia for a monitoring and evaluation firm and has spent time working in Rwanda. She is eager to continue exploring how policy and physical infrastructure can enable more equitable opportunities and reduce poverty.
